Flash, Fear and FMV Mix in Claustrophobic Adventure 'Demon Room'

One room -- that's all. This week's gaming picks limit you to the claustrophobic confines of four-walled spaces, but don't shy away from these enclosed experiences. Although being stuck in one room may seem limiting, it's the perfect setting for some quick, bite-sized gaming to get you through your lunch break.

As far as frightening experiences go, 'Demon Room' isn't quite 'The Exorcist.' But, when it comes to schlocky, Z-grade horror in the form of a free Flash adventure -- well, that's a different story. 'Demon Room' traps you in a haunted den, and asks you to draw out the spirit that has possessed it. You'll contend with some fairly obtuse, music-based puzzles, as well as survive a verbal sparring match with the demon itself, in order to ultimately free the room from its diabolical occupant. The game's real selling point is its so-bad-they're-good graphics, which are comprised of full-motion video (remember that?) and digitized photographs. All in all, it's a fun little throwback to a short-lived period of PC gaming, an era when the word "multimedia" actually had some relevance.
